Scarlett Johansson is an American actor and singer who was born in NYC, the city of New York, on November 22nd, 1984. Her performance has won an acclaim in a diverse variety of genres, including historical drama or thrillers, as well as action films. Johansson was the child of a film producer and an architect. The family is from New York City. Hunter was twin to her younger sister. She developed an interest in acting from a very young age, and began auditioning for commercials at age seven. In a brief time span her studies began in the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute. Later on, the Professional Children's School was opened in Manhattan. In the Off-Broadway production Sophistry she co-starred with Ethan Hawke. She then made her first film appearance in North (1994) which was directed by Rob Reiner, at age nine. Johansson was next seen in Just Cause (1995), prior to her breakthrough with Manny & Lo - a tale about two sisters who are orphans who are able to escape. The Horse Whisperer (2000), in which she played a teenager with a deformity due to an accident garnered her critical acclaim. After that, in Ghost World 2001 (as the cynical teenage outcast Rebecca), Johansson gained even more recognition. Renee Felice Smith was a teenager when she first began her career in entertainment. She discovered her passion for acting when she was a little girl. Smith was offered her first gig acting at the age of age six through the support of her parents. She created a commercial with Dannon. Similar to many actors starting out, she decided to perfect her art in the realm of theatre. When she performed her stage debut in Wildflower she was also working with various theatre projects in the USA. She was a student at The Stonestreet Studios Conservatory part of the New York University's Tisch School of the Arts'.
